Technicians first, since day one
AVL Matrix is a Cape Town event technical company run by working technicians. We’ve spent years as the crew behind other companies’ shows, and we bring that experience to yours.
Built from inside the industry
AVL Matrix is led by Jacques van Heerden, a senior AV technician and audio engineer who has worked in live events since 2015, for production companies across South Africa.
That’s why we understand every side of the job: what a production team needs from extra crew, what matters on a wedding day, and what goes wrong at 6am before doors. We plan for all of it.
Jacques started AVL Matrix in 2021, as events came back after Covid, to give planners and production teams one partner for the whole technical side of their events.
What we stand for
Your plan first
We follow your run-sheet and timings, and can work under your name when you prefer.
Plan before we pack
Site visits, 3D renders, signal plans and run-sheets are done before the truck is loaded.
Senior crew
Experienced technicians who understand the whole system, not just one box.
Straight quotes
Itemised pricing, and we’ll tell you when an event doesn’t need something.
Cape Town based, working nationwide
Our base is in Stikland, in Cape Town’s northern suburbs. Most of our work is in Cape Town, the Winelands and the wider Western Cape, and we travel with crew and equipment for events elsewhere in South Africa.
